We saw a holy lake along the route. The water was cold, so cold that it was ice.
We walked through sand plains too. Here, we had a 200m race at 5000m above sea level. It was absolutely lung-busting. I nearly died, literally. I took a while to get back my breath.
We saw these on the trek down...
But of course, the highlight has to the ascent. This is the first viewing point of the trek to Goecha La...
The sights were awesome after the view point. The pictures speak for themselves, but they do not do justice to the actual sights.
And, after a long, gruelling and dangerous trek, 9 days of no bathing, freezing nights and vegetarian diet, we reach Goecha La!
